Bridal Hair and Make-Up at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue, WA
Can you BELIEVE it?!? I'm aaaallliiiiivvvveeee :) Sorry about my lack of blog updates. I'd like to explain how busy I've been or blame some random act of God for my absence, but that'd be lying... and I don't lie (at least I try not to). I do have a reason, not an excuse. Facebook (FB) has taken over (a little Twitter on the side, but only to update my FB status and the handful of friends who only Twitter and not FB). That place has sucked me in and won't spit me out, I tell ya! Now that I have FB on my iPhone (which is another thing I cannot seem to live without), it's almost constant contact (which reminds me of the movie, Contact, with Matthew McConaughey (yum!) and Jodie Foster). Anywho, I realize not everyone is on FB (or they're not in my "friends" list), so I need to neglect the blog no longer. Besides, I always have something to say (don't I?) My hair and make-up friend, Rachel Williams, is launching her bridal business soon and needed some images to prove her point. That's where I come in. Since having children, my hair hasn't been quite the same. I've been a slave to coloring (darker on the bottom, wish Fire Engine Red would work permanently but it doesn't yet, and blonde highlights above) so we worked out a little barter. Wee! Her friend, Emelienne (ah-me-lee-ann), was our fantastic model. She's not a professional model, but she certainly could be! She was such a sport in the cold weather with barely anything on and was up for anything I wanted. Luckily I didn't have to tell her exactly where to put her hand, shoulder, hip, etc. everytime. Yay! I'd love to take her picture anytime :) P.S. The sun was going down and affected the light I had to work with. It was really fun to think on my feet and adjust my settings quickly as the clouds would cover the sunshine then move out of the way and shine again... like an amusement park ride (except I don't go on rides because I get motion sick). These were taken at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue, WA.

Stunning photos! Good to see you behind the camera again. And don't even get me started on Facebook addiction. I can't go there.
I figure if I'm very very good in this life maybe my hair will have curls like that in heaven.
Is that Kelsey Creek? I live nearby - I will have to remember this post in case I have a bride to be in my life any time soon!
You're too humble... all that complaining about the light - for not reason. Your pictures are gorgeous!
Thank you for keeping us (the blogging fans) updated. We appreciate your bussiness. :)
Bridge - I feel your plight, except that I'm on the other side (your brother, my husband, doesn't ever get on FB - must be a family thing). Thank you and, yes, it FEELS good to be behind the camera again :)
Geo - according to what I've seen, you'll have more curls in heaven than you know what to do with ;)
Yes, Andrea, that IS Kelsey Creek! There were so many angles to be had there, and we didn't go everywhere. There weren't any people there either (probably because it was sooo coooold).
Clyde, thanks for your kind words. Because I usually shoot manually (adjusting the shutter speed and f-stop), the light changing so often made me have to fiddle with my settings every few shots. I don't remember the last time I had to do that... thankfully I am comfortable with that so it wasn't hard, just had to think quick to get the shot I wanted when the light was just right ;)
Yay, you updated your blog! Those pictures look really great! & I love her hair too, it's darling!
The FB addiction has a hold of me too. I'm trying to be better. But I can't give up too many things at once...And cutting caffeine and "tasty food" out of my life are my focus at the moment. :) I don't want to over-do it. lol
Holey schmoley! That is one amazing up-do and the pictures are breath taking. I don't have quite the same addiction to FB as you (love all your updates btw) but it is a time sucker. Had to limit and pace myself cuz I lost a solid week of my life the first week I started. Can't remember if I fed my children either...oh well! What doesn't kill 'em makes 'em stronger, eh?
So glad you're still aliiiiiiiiiiiiiiive!!
These images are KILLER! No. 9 is simply to die for. Really beautiful work, spot on compositions and and lovely light!
