To Look, Or Not To Look

...THAT is the question for today. It was a lovely day spending it with my little family (including the dog). We all jumped in the family rig to first pick up the "My Kids, Jack, Piper" necklace I commissioned (and by that I mean a gal at the Bluecreek Boutique in P.G. was selling her wares and I bought one, personalized) then buy some treats for Jack's last soccer game of the season. As we're walking into the grocery store I see a dark-haired gal walking out that looks like someone I know. However, I wasn't exactly sure because I've only seen her once a few weeks ago and so wanted to take a closer look. But she was also looking at me then looking away (probably thinking the same thing OR wondering if I'm Lebanese). Trying to check her out without being obvious and not wanting to say anything until I knew I was right. We get to the point where we're just about to pass each other and both HAD to look again THEN we squealed each others names and embraced --- in the grocery store parking lot. Of course my hubby shuffled the kids along into the store, not wanting any part of the theatrics, I guess. What fun it was to see her! Oh, the other part of today that was a bit surprising to me was the items in our cart. Remember, we were there for Jack's soccer game individually pre-wrapped treats. What ended up in our cart was a couple bags of miniature marshmallows (Ben insisted that the bag we ALREADY have at home is stuck together), doughnuts (we buy doughnuts maybe twice a year), 3 boxes of Halloween packaged cereal (Ben said we had to have them in honor of our favorite holiday), caramel corn (because I had been talking about them the night before and still had a hankering for some), gummy eyeballs and individual packs of chips (they're darned cute). I looked at Ben and said (no offense meant), "This looks like a cart for white trash." We grabbed a handful of bananas, oranges then got some orange juice. Not quite balancing the junk in the cart, but a commendable effort, none-the-less.

JUNK IN THE CART = JUNK IN THE TRUNK

That should be the new Jenny Craig motto!!

I got a big jealous about the pictures on her site...well, any site. It makes me realize that I have SO SO SO much to learn....

The light and the crispness of her black and white photos is unbelieveable...how do you do that? Post editing? I only get that effect by accident.....

Fun post.

Reminiscent of my Friday night at Macey's with the kids in tow--yes, even the seven-year-old--at 10:30 p.m. and a cart full of Dreyers pints of Cookie Dough (for a mere 69 cents each) and Izze drinks.

Craving caramel corn now.

I guess I might have to settle for some bananas.

I ran into a friend at the grocery store last night. I was so happy that even though I was satisfying an extremely demanding (and strangely disgusting) craving for Totino's Ghetto Party Pizza, I also had brussels sprouts and some other vegetables in the cart.

Then again, any visit to the grocery store that doesn't include chasing my kid up and down the store aisles is a good trip.

Did you make that up?

Bek-Post editing, my dear, post editing. Although you have to start with a well-exposed pic in the first place to get the effects just right. That's what I've been working on lately. Correct exposure.

CW-How does one get Dreyers for 69 cents each?

Azucar-Party Pizza takes me back to the days of babysitting. I looked so forward to eating them because my mom never let us (we always had fresh-made healthy food).

~j.-Yes. I believe I did ;o)

69c Dreyers sounds made up.

You definetely have some of the best exposed pics I've ever seen. The new pics of Piper are works of art.

AHHHH I feel soooo special being posted on your blog... you ARE the greatest! Seriously though it was one of those odd moments where you don't dare look more that a couple of times without feeling like you're stalkerish. I heard PUG was more of a fun time than a learning time (your pics with D.J. on your bike, yipeee huh?), I wish I could have been there. I am glad you got to meet Rebekah though, she rocks! We need to get together and soon too!
