Bridal Hair and Make-Up at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue, WA

Can you BELIEVE it?!? I'm aaaallliiiiivvvveeee :) Sorry about my lack of blog updates. I'd like to explain how busy I've been or blame some random act of God for my absence, but that'd be lying... and I don't lie (at least I try not to). I do have a reason, not an excuse. Facebook (FB) has taken over (a little Twitter on the side, but only to update my FB status and the handful of friends who only Twitter and not FB). That place has sucked me in and won't spit me out, I tell ya! Now that I have FB on my iPhone (which is another thing I cannot seem to live without), it's almost constant contact (which reminds me of the movie, Contact, with Matthew McConaughey (yum!) and Jodie Foster). Anywho, I realize not everyone is on FB (or they're not in my "friends" list), so I need to neglect the blog no longer. Besides, I always have something to say (don't I?) My hair and make-up friend, Rachel Williams, is launching her bridal business soon and needed some images to prove her point. That's where I come in. Since having children, my hair hasn't been quite the same. I've been a slave to coloring (darker on the bottom, wish Fire Engine Red would work permanently but it doesn't yet, and blonde highlights above) so we worked out a little barter. Wee! Her friend, Emelienne (ah-me-lee-ann), was our fantastic model. She's not a professional model, but she certainly could be! She was such a sport in the cold weather with barely anything on and was up for anything I wanted. Luckily I didn't have to tell her exactly where to put her hand, shoulder, hip, etc. everytime. Yay! I'd love to take her picture anytime :) P.S. The sun was going down and affected the light I had to work with. It was really fun to think on my feet and adjust my settings quickly as the clouds would cover the sunshine then move out of the way and shine again... like an amusement park ride (except I don't go on rides because I get motion sick). These were taken at Kelsey Creek Farm in Bellevue, WA.

Kristy's Bridals

Kristy and Phil were married over the weekend in an intimate little ceremony on an old farmstead in Utah, Wadley Farms. NOW I can finally post her bridals. I'm still playing with different editing techniques, so their kind of all over the place as far as look goes. I love 'em, hope you do too ;o)

Miriam's Bridals

Ahh, finally... Miriam's bridals! I was saving these for after the wedding so Nick wouldn't see them but I guess it was inevitable that he would (they're TOO cute). Miriam and I drove down south to Eureka, Utah on Memorial weekend to get some rustic lovin' in a town of about 800 residents. There weren't many people to be seen but a silver Dodge truck kept driving past us then turning around at the end of the street to do it again. A little girl came out of an antique store holding an "open" sign pointed at us ;o) Another little girl came over and asked Miriam why she was dressed like a princess. She explained that she's getting married. Then the little girl said, "I am going to get married someday, but not until I'm older... like 16." hahaha We laughed inside until she was out of earshot. Then we drove further south to the sand dunes to duck and dodge out of the way of all the ATV's and 4-wheelers. After climing up the steep hill carrying my black chair, we had a hard time seeing anything because of the high afternoon sun but Miriam managed by closing her eyes until I said "three" and I just hoped for the best because I couldn't get a very good reading. I think we did a'ight and I LOVE that we had some clouds in the sky. Too many favorites, again, but I hope you like them...

Vegas Shoot with Alyson & Ryan

This couple is SO darling - Alyson's absolutely gorgeous and SUPER nice and Ryan is a hunka hunka sweetness. They oozed loveliness. I had SO much fun shooting them in Vegas with Chris + Lynn, and a few other forum friends, that I'd shoot them any day of the week! We were outside Bally's at 8pm in low-light conditions with only a hand-held mini light. I think I'm getting a handle on these tricky lighting situations!
1. I love this B/W version... sultry.

2. This wall with the yellow curb line... fun!

3. Love these moments.

4. LOVE the lines in this one!

5. Love the COLOR in this one - and their SMILES!

6. I think I'm enlarging this one for my wall. LOVE the light playing off the shadows.

7. Moments. "How does it make you FEEL?" the great Joe Buissink says. Plus I am a sucker for the mans hand on a womans neck and cheek like that. Yummy!

8. This silver/red conversion is tasty. LOVE her look in this one!

9. Yet another moment. LOVE these shots!

10. My other favorite. LOVE the lines, colors and how she POPS there at the bottom.

Q: Have any comments? I'd love to hear what you think!
