Quilts - at the end

These have been done in the last year. There is one missing because I don't have a picture of it yet - it's a blue/white pinwheel for my nephew (2nd to make me an Aunt). Actually I think this was made over a year ago because I just saw the little guy who has this blankie and I think he's almost 2. Eek! Fun monkey fabric. I about killed myself over this one. My FIRST full-size-adult blankie. Baby blankets are quite manageable because they're smallish. THIS one, phew. I decided to make a blankie for a friend that is so kind to everyone. Don't think he gets as much as he gives. I joked with him once that I'd trade him a professional framed photograph of his brothers work (he's locally famous for his photos) for a blankie. I meant the blankie I was already planning to make for their last baby but he tried to make it seem like it would really be for him. So, with his wifes permission, I set ahead to make him his own. I thought it'd just be 2 pieces of fabric, sewn right sides together, turned right sides out and stitched around the edge - maybe tacking it down here and there so it didn't lay funny. But I couldn't find the fabric I had pictured in my mind because they only made that kind 45" wide and not 60". Then I went off the deep end and picked this Bullseye pattern because it's a masculine design and he's very meticulous so it fit. I busted this blanket out in about a week and gave it to him on his wifes birthday (SHE insisted I take it to him that day instead of waiting until Christmas). The whole family loves it and that makes me happy. I dabble in purses. These were my first 2 and I've made a couple since. I might make some wallets similar because I cannot find the perfect wallet to hold all my frequent-purchase cards (like the buy 10 get one free at Bajio and stuff).

Purses for sale?

I love the yearbook sock monkey fabric. I did my kids' bathroom in that (the shower curtain).

I want to buy one of your purses as a baby bag? Do you sell? A gal here does ones similar to that and they go for 75-100$$

I will be second on the list of you are selling (after Cabesh of course).

Love them all!

Love that you photograph your baby quilts with babies in them!

Love sock monkeys!

Sorry, I know I'm using the exclamation point! like you use the dash-mark, but this is how excited I get over sistah quilters.

Now I'm going to try one more time to talk you into Saturday Sampler. Or into at least checking out American Quilting if you haven't ever been there. E-mail me your e-mail address and I will send you a photo of the last year's Saturday Sampler. It's a block of the month, not a class. (Perfect for the busy woman that you are.) And you don't even have to attend the demo--all you have to do is drop in the second Saturday of the month with your finished block and pick up the kit for the new one. And Amy's are the best!

(Love the bags, too. I need to see the wallets--because my buy-10-get-one-frees are all over the place.)

I think a wallet to keep your frequent shopper cards in is an amazing idea.

(And the sock monkey quilt comes in a VERY close second. Very close.)

I think that we may have been sisters in heaven. I have started quilting this last year and making bags. Also a photographer. Do we know each other from BYU or something?

No purses for sale - too busy - but thanks for the compliments! I'm happy to email the pattern that I jimmy-rigged; it even has diagrams.

Cjane - let us dabble. My fish tacos heart u.

layen - a bday gift is on it's way with ~j so you'll forgive me for the Cuba quilt. I still have the fabric saved for jooj though.

Bowler - I wanna see your photographs (as long as they're not porn). My hubby will work on my website next week and I'll post the address when it's ready. No BYU for me but maybe you know me from Carrabba's --- I'm a celebrity there.

I finally found your site via compulsive. I remembered you'd commented on being from Clovis, right? I used to live in Hobbs when I was little, so we were in the same stake maybe?
Oh, and you are incredibly talented!

Welcome Elizabeth! Yes, I'm from Clovis - not sure about the stake because I'm a convert (9yrs now) - and thanks for the compliment!

I will forgive you. I have a quilt in Jooj's room that my Aunt Debi began for me when I was a baby. She told me, in high school, that she would get it done before I had a baby. She passed away a few years ago, and my mom sent me the unfinished quilt. Maybe when Jooj has a baby I will finish it.
